In this podcast episode, I have the privilege of interviewing Mark Cheverton, a New York Times bestselling author known for his popular "Game Knight 999" series set in the world of Minecraft. Mark's journey as an author began with the first book in the series, "Invasion of the Overworld," which he wrote to teach his Minecraft enthusiast son about cyberbullying.

Before diving into the world of writing, Mark had a background in physics and held a master's degree in the field. He spent 15 years working in the public school system, but everything changed when his son's anxiety started to escalate during his second-grade years. Initially, the symptoms seemed normal, but as his son progressed towards seventh grade, the anxiety persisted despite various attempts to find relief.

Faced with this challenge, Mark made the courageous decision to quit his job and embark on a homeschooling program for his son. This major life change allowed him to dedicate more time to writing children's books, a passion he had always held. As he delved deep into the world of storytelling, Mark's son began to thrive within the homeschooling environment, finding the support and flexibility he needed to manage his anxiety.

Fast forward to the present day, and Mark just released his highly anticipated 27th novel, a captivating middle-grade fantasy geared towards children aged 8 to 13. This latest book, Facing the Beast Within: The Anxiety Cameron Poole follows the character Cameron, addressing anxiety symptoms similar to those experienced by Mark's son. Drawing from his personal experiences, Mark skillfully weaves a tale that gently guides young readers towards overcoming their anxiety.

To ensure the authenticity and effectiveness of his storytelling, Mark collaborated closely with a team of child psychologists and mental health professionals. Their expertise and insights helped shape the narrative, ensuring that the book resonates with its intended audience and provides valuable support and practical tips for children dealing with anxiety.

The impact of Mark's work has not gone unnoticed, as his latest novel has garnered significant recognition and acclaim. It proudly holds the prestigious title of the winner of the 2023 International Book Award for Children's Fiction, a testament to its compelling storytelling and positive impact on young readers. In this episode of our podcast, we dive into the world of cannabis with our guest, Graham Benjamin. Through the perspectives of a regular consumer, black market dealer, grower, and medical cannabis consultant, Graham provides a unique and comprehensive insight into the vast uses of cannabis beyond just medical and recreational purposes.
We explore the complex landscape of marijuana regulation, where state laws and regulations govern the use of medical and recreational marijuana, while the federal government maintains a different stance. Graham sheds light on the grey areas that arise due to this disparity, highlighting the challenges faced by both growers and industry professionals.
One of the key takeaways from our conversation is the importance of understanding the distinction between activated and non-activated CBD. Graham explains that only activated CBD contains the beneficial cannabinoids, and he reveals that many products available on the market today are made with non-activated CBD.
To further educate consumers, Graham discusses how to read the labels on cannabis products, emphasizing that the information provided can vary from state to state. By being able to decipher potency analysis and other relevant details, listeners can become educated consumers and make informed decisions about their cannabis usage.
It is important to note that throughout the episode, we emphasize responsible consumption and adhere to legal requirements. As the podcast host, I want to make it clear that I do not condone the use of cannabis for anyone under the age of 21 and that it is our responsibility to keep cannabis products, especially edibles, out of the reach of minors.
Join us for this enlightening conversation as we explore the multifaceted world of cannabis, gain insights from different perspectives, and equip ourselves with the knowledge to navigate the complexities of this evolving industry.

Please welcome guest, David Moreno, E-RYT 500, YACEP, SFT. Today David and I share how the world of yoga has evolved over the last 30 years from both of our perspectives. David acknowledges that yoga has undergone significant changes since he began teaching. However, he believes that its inclusive heart can always be experienced when we surrender to the field of consciousness that yoga offers.
With his wealth of knowledge and deep understanding of the practice, David continues to inspire and guide students on their yoga journey, inviting them to explore the transformative power of yoga beyond boundaries and labels. His teaching journey has taken him to international yoga conferences, festivals, universities, and teacher training programs across the globe.
David's expertise extends beyond the traditional yoga studio setting. He has worked privately with students in the fashion and entertainment industries, as well as trained world-class athletes, including the coach of the 2004/2008 Olympics U.S. Men’s Swim Team. Furthermore, David is a certified Pilates instructor, Somatic Fitness Trainer, and an ordained minister.
What sets David's teaching apart is his unique approach that combines the principles and styles of Yin, Vinyasa, Anusara, and Bihar schools of yoga. He seamlessly weaves in elements of Qi Gong, somatic fitness, and his dance training to create a holistic and transformative experience on the mat. Rather than adhering to a singular style or discipline, David's teachings reflect his extensive 30 years of study and exploration.By focusing on the details and principles of universal alignment, David believes that the more subtle aspects of the practice reveal themselves. He values direct experience and encourages students to truly feel and connect with their practice, rather than rushing through choreography or becoming attached to preconceived notions of what yoga should be.
